Gospel of One; Letters of Aul

Helloo everyone, namaste:

We are continuing with chapter 6, paragraph 5 in the Letter to the Omans from the book "Gospel of One; Letters of Aul:"

"Everybody can understand concepts about freedom. It is a vital subject. We can recall how in the past we did things just because we felt like doing them, but not caring about God, not caring about others, and how our lives eventually suffered with such a careless attitude. That's why so many rules and laws have been imposed upon us. We did not know how to handle our freedom, so our freedom was taken away from us. As long as we did what we just felt like doing, we didn't bother with right living and right thinking, or right anything for that matter. But do you call that a free life? What did we get out of it except trouble and sorrow? There was nothing to be proud of. We always came to sad or bitter endings."

Commentary: With freedom comes the highest responsibility for yourself. God gave us freewill, and with every choice we have consequences that lead us to our next choices. If our choices are guided by love, our consequences will be better than if guided by lesser motives. That seems easy to realize, but the history of our various cultures and countries shows many abysmal failures in the use of free-will.

God does not take away our free will, but certain governments and dictators take away freedoms because they think the people will not make good decisions. The better decisions we make, the better our govenments will be.
